Ordering and delivery
How much does delivery cost?
Furniture freight is a flat rate worked out from the item's weight and your state, and it is shown in the cart before you pay. Smaller pieces start at around $25 to $35 and the rate rises with weight. Prints and wall art ship for $9.95 on orders under $200 and $15.95 on orders of $200 or more.
How long will my order take to arrive?
In-stock furniture is dispatched the next business day and generally arrives within two to seven business days to most areas. Prints and wall art are made to order, dispatch in about two business days and take roughly seven days to arrive.
Each product page shows an estimated delivery range for that specific item, and pre-order pieces carry their own lead time.
Will the driver bring the furniture inside or upstairs?
No. Standard delivery is drop to door, which means the courier leaves the cartons at your ground floor entrance. They will not carry items up stairs or into a lift, and unboxing, assembly and rubbish removal are not included.
If you want delivery into your room of choice, assembly and packaging removal, email info@seekandramble.com before you order and we will quote a premium service for your address.
Do you deliver to regional or remote areas?
We deliver Australia wide. Standard rates cover most of the country, but some regional and remote addresses, and very heavy pieces going to Western Australia, Tasmania or the Northern Territory, need a freight quote.
If checkout does not return a delivery rate for your postcode, email info@seekandramble.com with your address and the item and we will quote it.
Can I collect my order instead of having it delivered?
Yes. Pickup is free from our studio and warehouse at 1/6 Ainslie Close, Somersby NSW 2250, on the Central Coast about an hour north of Sydney. Choose pickup at checkout where the item is in stock.
We will email you when your order is ready, so please wait for that email before coming in, and bring your order confirmation. The studio is attended by appointment only.
Do you offer express shipping?
We do not offer an express option at checkout. Furniture ships by drop-to-door courier and is dispatched the next business day where the item is in stock. Wall art and prints are made to order and dispatch in about two business days.
If you have a deadline, email info@seekandramble.com before you order and we will tell you what is realistic for your address.
Do you ship internationally?
Not at this time. We ship within Australia only. Furniture, wall art and prints all deliver Australia wide.
Do you offer free shipping?
Not as standard. Furniture freight is charged at a flat rate based on the item's weight and your state, shown in the cart before you pay. Free shipping is offered from time to time during sales events, on selected products and to selected locations. Current offers appear on our promotions page.
After your order
What happens if my order arrives damaged?
Inspect every carton before you sign for the delivery and note any damage on the proof of delivery. Report damage or faults to info@seekandramble.com within two business days with photos, and keep the cartons until the claim is resolved.
We respond within 48 hours and will arrange a replacement, repair or refund as appropriate.
Can I return an item if I change my mind?
Yes, within 30 days of receiving it. Contact info@seekandramble.com to start the return. The item must be unused and in as new condition, repackaged in its original undamaged packaging.
Return freight is at your cost, including on orders that shipped free, and original shipping charges are not refunded. Items returned in less than as new condition may be accepted at our discretion with a 25 per cent restocking fee. Refunds are processed within two business days of the items being collected.
What warranty comes with your furniture?
Every piece carries a two year manufacturing warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal household use, including structural faults.
It does not cover general wear and tear, fading, fabric pilling, natural variation in materials, damage from misuse or improper assembly, or commercial and outdoor use. To claim, email info@seekandramble.com with your order number, a description and clear photos. This sits alongside your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Contact info@seekandramble.com before your order ships and there is no additional charge. Once an order has been dispatched, changes can attract extra costs including a second shipping fee, and shipping is not refunded on an order cancelled after dispatch.
Wall art and prints cannot have the delivery address changed once the order has reached the printer.
Paying for your order
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard and American Express, plus PayPal, Afterpay, Zip and PayPal Pay in 4. All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Full payment is required at the time of purchase on in-stock items.
Can I order something that is on pre-order?
Yes. Extended pre-order items can be secured with a 50 per cent deposit, which places the piece into the production queue. The remaining balance is due before dispatch, and we contact you when the item is ready to finalise payment and arrange delivery.
You receive an invoice showing the total, the deposit paid and the balance owing. Lead times for pre-order pieces are shown on each product page.
About our products
Does the furniture arrive assembled?
Most pieces need some assembly and arrive flat packed with instructions and fittings included. Each product page states what assembly is involved for that item.
If you would rather not do it yourself, email info@seekandramble.com and we can quote delivery with assembly in your room of choice.
Can I see a fabric or timber sample before I buy?
Yes, and swatches are free. Order them on our free swatch page, where each swatch is listed as a $0.00 product you add to your cart.
The range covers Hudson, Costa, Fitzroy, Brunswick and Boucle fabrics, Boyd leather in black and tan, and Oscar range oak and antique scroll white oak timber samples. You can also see pieces in person at our Somersby studio on the Central Coast by appointment.
What is fluted glass?
Fluted glass refers to glass panels or surfaces that have decorative vertical grooves or channels running along them. It is a popular design element used in modern furniture and architecture.
It offers a combination of visual, functional and textural benefits, which is why it appears so often in contemporary furniture design.
What is a PU coating and manufactured wood?
PU coating, short for polyurethane coating, is a protective finish applied to manufactured wood surfaces. It is a synthetic material derived from polyurethane polymers. PU coating offers enhanced durability, moisture resistance, and increased resistance to scratches, stains and UV damage.
It provides a consistent appearance and helps protect the underlying wood from wear and tear. PU coatings are commonly used in furniture manufacturing and other applications where a protective, attractive finish is wanted.
What is a powder coated finish?
A powder coated finish is a type of coating applied to a surface as a dry powder. It is a popular method used to provide a durable and decorative finish to metal, ceramic and some plastic substrates.
Powder coated finishes resist chipping, scratching and fading, which makes them highly durable. They also offer better protection against corrosion and weathering than traditional liquid paints.
What is manufactured wood and timber veneer?
Manufactured wood, also known as engineered wood or composite wood, is a wood product created by binding together wood fibres, particles or veneers with adhesives under heat and pressure. It offers increased stability, uniformity and resistance to warping and shrinking.
Timber veneer involves applying a thin layer of real wood onto the surface of a furniture piece. Veneers are slices of real wood, typically obtained from a log through slicing or peeling, then applied to the manufactured wood substrate using adhesives.
The result gives the appearance and feel of real wood, with the natural variation in grain pattern and colour that comes with it.
What is a vacuum plated finish?
Vacuum plated finish, also known as vacuum metallisation or physical vapour deposition (PVD), is a surface coating technique used to apply a thin layer of metal onto a substrate. A vacuum chamber is used to evaporate the metal material, which then condenses onto the surface of the object, creating a metallic coating.
The result is a durable and visually appealing finish that replicates the appearance of metals such as chrome, gold or silver. Vacuum plated finishes are used in automotive parts, decorative items, electronics and furniture.
What is the difference between vacuum plated and painted finishes?
Vacuum plated finishes deposit a thin layer of metal onto a substrate through a vaporisation process, creating a metallic appearance that mimics the properties of different metals. Vacuum plating offers high durability and an authentic metal-like finish.
Painted finishes apply liquid paint or coating onto a surface. They offer a broader range of colour options and can achieve various textures and effects, but they do not have the same metallic or reflective properties, and may need additional protective coatings for durability.
Are pedestal tables sturdy?
The drum base of our pedestal tables has a concealed weight that adds stability at the bottom of the table. Most of the table weight sits in the base, which gives better stability.
