What's the difference between a sun bed, a sun lounger and a day bed? +
Sun bed and sun lounger describe the same thing in Australia — a single reclining outdoor lounger with an adjustable backrest, sized for one person. A day bed is wider and usually flat, designed for two or for lounging rather than sunbathing. What we sell here are single sun beds with adjustable backrests.
Can a sun bed be left out in the sun all year? +
The frames are built for it — triple powder-coated steel holds its colour under UV and doesn't need seasonal treatment the way timber does. Cushions are the part worth bringing undercover when they aren't in use, and near the coast an occasional fresh-water rinse will keep the finish looking newer for longer.
How much space does a sun bed need? +
Allow the length of the bed plus about 60cm at the foot end so you can walk past without stepping over it, and enough width beside it for a side table. Two sun beds side by side generally want 40–50cm between them — close enough to talk across, far enough to get in and out.
Does the backrest adjust? +
Yes — the backrest adjusts so the same sun bed works upright for reading and flat for sunbathing. Our C-shaped outdoor side tables are designed to slide underneath so a drink or a book sits within reach without needing a separate table beside the bed.
Can I pick up, or do you deliver? +
We ship Australia-wide, with most orders delivered in 2–7 business days. You can also collect from our Central Coast or Sydney (Kingsgrove) NSW locations, and our Sydney studio is open by appointment if you'd like to see pieces in person. All Seek & Ramble furniture includes a 2-year manufacturer's warranty.
